This is the original oil painting on stretched canvas, and there is only one. Up close you can see the canvas weave through the paint and every soft, feathery brushstroke.
A round little owl tilts its head and looks straight at you with big yellow eyes. Its feathers are painted in warm browns, tan and cream, with darker speckles across the top of its head and a small yellow beak. A touch of yellow glows along its belly, and the background is a simple wash of pale blue and white, so the owl gets all the attention.
I can't look at this little puff of feathers without smiling. That head tilt is my favorite part.
